Here at Piano Lessons Glasgow we are never more excited than when we hear that one of our piano students has entered the recording studio for the first time.

Whether it is part of a local band or a solo piano performance we think that recording is a fantastic experience that everyone should aim for! We are passionate about supporting local bands as well, looking to see the next Biffy Clyro, Franz Ferdinand or Glasvegas come out of Glasgow and rock audiences worldwide! So to help everyone along we have drawn together what we consider to be the best local recording studios Glasgow has to offer! In no order...

Riverside Music

Riverside Music Scotland's largest recording studio is certainly one of the best studios for local bands and solo pianist to check out. With rehearsal rates on their three beautifully furnished rehearsal rooms offering cracking value, with free live digital recording, backline and PA system included as standard. Their huge live studio space, Studio One, is a sight to behold. The 360 square meter room is ideal for recording that big band sound, with the acoustics sounding like no other recording. Having seen the likes of Travis, Teenage Fanclub and The Vaselines come through Riverside Music's doors over the past few years it is one of the best around.

Gorbals Sound Studios

Gorbals Sound Studios has seen the likes of The Temper Trap and Glasvegas record in its excellently designed recording facility. Decked out with all the latest recording equipment Gorbals Sound Studios, located at 97 Pollokshaws Road G41 1PU, is one of Glasgow's best recording studios. Boasting some of the best sound engineers in the business and having a back-catalogue of fantastic sounding tracks Gorbals is certainly a place to look at as an up and coming local band.

Chem 19

Chem 19 is a state of the art recording studio located a little out of Glasgow on Blantyre Industrial Estate, Hamilton, G72 0XB. Having seen the likes of The Fratellis, Franz Ferdinand and Sons & Daughters record at Chem 19 ran by the Scottish record label Chemikal Underground you can rest assured you are in great hands. Their two recording rooms, beautifully furnished and ran by some of the best engineers around like Paul Savage, Winner of the Music Producer's Guild Award 'Breakthrough Producer 2010' making a recording at Chem 19 a relaxing and valuable experience for all solo pianist and band members! Well worth checking out.

45 A-Side Recordings

45 A-Side Recordings is rentable from as little as £220 for a 10 hour recording day for solo performers and full bands. Located at Unit 306, 279 Abercromby Street, G40 2DD the state of the art recording studio packing fantastic equipment (including a Yamaha U3 piano!) and producing some cracking sounding tracks - check out their audio samples for more info! With locally known engineer Paul McInally being an extremely experienced and knowledgeable sound engineer you will be in very good hands recording at 45 A-Side Recordings.

Carlton Studios

Carlton Studios is another of Glasgow's top recording and rehearsal facilities. Founded in 1990 the studio is run by passionate music enthusiasts Jake McKechan, Mick Price and Barny Taplin. Know locally for the state of the art equipment and well-furnished rehearsal rooms, rentable for as little as £10 p/h during the day or £23 p/h during the evening, Carlton Studios are ideally located at 54 Carlton Place, G5 9TW central Glasgow. With the recording also available at fantastic prices Carlton Studios are well worth checking out for all local bands.
