We have answered some of the most common questions asked about piano lessons.
Absolutely, most of my students have never played the piano before their first lesson. We will have you playing in no time, don't worry.
I teach the majority of my piano lessons in Glasgow by traveling to my students. I have found from my experience that learning the music in a familiar environment helps students to relax and progress faster with improving their skills.
Yes, I have taught many children to learn to play the piano. It is great for developing young peoples musicality and getting them excited by music. I tutor children from the age of 6 upwards, with lessons for young people working best as half-hour lessons each week. You are more than welcome to join us for the piano lesson if you wish to sit in.
It is completely up to you! Whatever style of piano music you like, classical, modern or jazz, as well as anything in between, we will cover it! My piano lessons are all about empowering my students to play the music they love, whether that is Coldplay or Chopin.
Not at all, I have all the equipment here that you are more than welcome to use.
If you are a beginner you can start with a keyboard. However, if you are at Grade 1 or above it's better to play on a piano to create your correct posture and technique. There are a lot of places in Glasgow that you can approach to see if they would allow you to practice there. For example, music studios, local churches, music shops, the University of Glasgow and other educational institutions for current students. You will be surprised where you can find a piano to practice on if you wanted to.
I mainly teach in the weekday evenings and Saturdays, but we'll make sure to find the most suitable slot for your lesson.
Please, give me at least 24 hours notice and we can reschedule your lesson. Lessons cancelled within 24 hours of the arranged time will be charged for.
